• studies in chemistry at the university of Greifswald and at the TU Berlin, diploma thesis in the field of synthesis of perhydro-azulene (1994)
• doctoral degree with thesis in the field of bacterial pollutant degradation and the bio-catalysis (1994-97) at the TU Graz, Austria
• post-doc at Yale University, USA (1997-98) and at the California Institute of Technology, USA (1999-2000) with research focus on bio-catalysis and controlled evolution of enzymes
• research group leader in a biotechnology company in the field of combinatoric bio-synthesis (2001-2003)
• patent engineer at Maikowski & Ninnemann (since 2004)
• European Patent Attorney (since 2008)

Activities:

• German, European and international patent applications (in particular medical technology, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology)
• preparation of license and cooperation agreements
• representation in opposition and appeal procedures before the European Patent Office
